Nueva Appreciations

From Students

Remote learning has provided me with a tremendous appreciation for the creativity, dedication, and social awareness of the Nueva community. Our transition to online learning (for even PE and Lit Club) has been seamless. My chemistry teacher dropped off supplies to every student's house so we could all complete our lab together online is remarkable! And the school's generosity to convert students' appreciations to food on-the-table for those most in need speaks for itself. THANK YOU, NUEVA!

Thank you Mama for always being supportive and understanding

I appreciate my mother for keeping good spirits at home and making our time together something I always look forward to.

I appreciate Kevin for both being so understanding about this difficult transition and also keeping the structure and content of our class consistent with our pre-pandemic class.

From Teachers

I am so appreciative of my high school students who arrive to Zoom classes on time and eager to interact with one another and the class lesson. I love that learning (and SEL education) is a priority for the Nueva community.

I appreciate being a part of the Nueva community PreK-12: students, families, faculty, staff, board members, parent volunteers, and alumni! Learning by doing, talking, collaborating, trying new things, re-purposing old things, evaluating, giving feedback -  all with flexibility, compassion, a sense of humor, and with the question: How can I help?

I really appreciate our Trustees, who are backing the school in our efforts to flex and innovate so we can continue to deliver curriculum to our students!

I'm so grateful for the middle school students who are figuring out how to keep going to school online. On average we have only one person a day absent and I am so impressed by your willingness to show up, even in this new way, and keep your learning journey going.

I'd like to appreciate the indefatigable deans, each of whom works tirelessly with LOVE, CARE, and HUMOR to lift us up, organize our lives, and make this experience both fun and manageable. We all love you!

I appreciate our Nueva students who are so smart, kind, generous and creative. I especially appreciate the MS Student Council and the Service Club - you are the best!

I want to appreciate my students for being so resilient during this trying time. They are happy and excited to be in Zoom class everyday, super curious, funny, and they definitely make my day brighter when I get to (virtually) see them!

I appreciate teaching at a school that understands that giving appreciations helps fuel us during these challenging times. I feel lucky to be so supported!

I appreciate how the Nueva Community is approaching our new new style of learning remotely. I feel that we are living our motto of learning by doing. There is a tremendous amount of patience and love needed and I feel that more than ever, our community is brimming with these qualities. Teachers, students, and families are keeping what Nueva is all about going remotely during this strange time, for this I am very grateful.

I appreciate Colin, Camille, and Anton for creating this wonderful platform to share our love for our Nueva community WHILE ALSO making such a positive impact within our broader community!

I appreciate students for being patient as us teachers figure out online teaching, and for helping each other out!

I am so grateful for the support the administration team and families have given to teachers to help us transition to teaching remotely and to show caring and flexibility in supporting each other.
