Old Appreciations

I appreciate our teachers for continuing to persevere and providing us with the best learning experience even with their lives in the background.

I appreciate Claire for working through the nightmare that is scheduling. 

I appreciate the fun class activities we do in my Spanish (Francisco) and English (Jasmin) classes! They are the highlights of my day. 

I'm thankful for resources that keep me in touch with friends, as they're always able to bring a smile to my face. I also appreciate that all my teachers are always there for me, whether it's class related or not. I'm also grateful that everyone is taking this situation seriously, as if we weren't, then we might have to stay in this situation even longer. 

I appreciate all of my teachers because they have worked really hard to make remote learning possible. 

Thank you to all of the Nueva teachers for being so flexible and working against the difficult effects of coronavirus and lockdown!

I appreciate my teachers for being really creative in coming up with ways to have very hands-on classes such as Chemistry at home (in our kitchen).

I deeply appreciate all of my teachers who go the extra mile every day to ensure that we are happy and full-filled. They are always asking how we are, meeting with us one-on-one or in small groups, and genuinely care about all of us. I feel lucky to have so many adults in my life who care about me.  

I appreciate the fact that we have time to go on family walks and maintain a sense of routine and normalcy, even when it feels like the word is falling apart.

I appreciate John Feland for all of his legendary zoom backgrounds - he never fails to keep us students engaged and smiling!

I appreciate my friends for zoom calling all the time and playing jackbox games

I appreciate my mom for putting up with me even though I'm a pain and also making food

I appreciate Disney+, Netflix, and youtube for fueling my unhealthy addiction to watching tv

I appreciate my friends for being there for me when I need to talk.

I appreciate telegram for letting me connect with friends online

I appreciate skribbl.io because it's a game I can play with my friends over zoom

I appreciate my teachers for working to adapt to remote learning

I appreciate my art teacher for challenging me to do fun art projects off of electronics!

I appreciate Diane for being a great head of school while we're stuck at home and keeping us updated on everything. We'll miss you, Diane!

I appreciate my friends for being so supportive of me right now.

I appreciate my friends for doing homework with me through zoom

I appreciate my teachers for trying to keep things as normal as possible for us and trying to create lessons that are fun.

I appreciate everyone who's work into our remote learning. Those who have stayed up late fixing every little tech issue, responded to emails about links not working, and all the teachers who have altered their curriculum to fit the new needs.

I appreciate the fact that we still have the opportunity to learn, and for everyone in that four day break from our last day of school at school to remote learning testing to get everything to work. I also am grateful for the flexibility we're given and the fact that we are able to give feedback twice a week, proving that everyone is working really hard to make the best out of this situation.

I appreciate Nueva for teaching us how to use zoom which also allows my family and extended family to do group facetimes and stay in touch.

I appreciate all of the people working on electives for taking the time to do so for us.

I appreciate Zoom and all the other apps that help us with remote learning.

I appreciate all my teachers for being extra awesome.

I appreciate the privilege of having a school computer that allows me to continue learning!

I appreciate Nueva for creating this project which allows up to give back to those who could use extra support at this time.

I appreciate Reenie for teaching a full grade art class.

I appreciate all my friends who contact me frequently so I am less bored.

I appreciate my family for making the weekends less boring.

I appreciate Alison for being a great SEL teacher/complaint communication carrier during remote learning. 

I appreciate how the whole school is working together to improve our learning experience and help those affected by coronavirus.

I appreciate my friends for talking with me on Zoom.

I want to appreciate Alison for being so supportive and for being the perfect SEL teacher during this difficult time. Alison- if you are reading this, thank you for being a candle on the water.

I appreciate Nueva's resources. All middle school students have access to laptop that allow us to continue learning even through this pandemic which is a gift that many people aren't blessed with. 

I appreciate myself for taking time to practice self care in a time when we are forced to stay away from many sources of joy such as friends, extended family, etc.

I appreciate my friends for calling me in hangouts. 

I appreciate the teachers for managing the classes without the usual tools and coming up with ways class can still be fun from home.

I appreciate Cristina for making a really fun science class.

I appreciate everyone on Google Hangouts for making me not feel lonely at home by myself and for playing Skribbl.io with me. 

I want to appreciate Alison for being so supportive and for being the perfect SEL teacher during this difficult time. Alison- if you are reading this, thank you for being a candle on the water.

I appreciate Reenie because she always comes up with the best projects that are super fun and unique.

I appreciate Jason McEuin for being an amazing P.E. and basketball teacher. Jason has taught me so much about basketball. Jason was my coach for basketball and he always told us that it didn't matter if we won or lost. It only mattered if we had tried are best and improved.

I appreciate the teachers who have to change their entire curriculum. 

I appreciate all of my friends for still keeping in touch with me and having a lot of virtual playdates :)

I appreciate Karen Tiegel for always sharing with us her nature walks on the deans daily. She makes writing class super fun even when we are in hard times.

Good job everyone! I really appreciate everything you're doing to get us through this time, while also making us laugh and making sure we're never bored. Keep it up!

I appreciate Zac for being an amazing advisor and always letting do fun things like wikipedia races.

I appreciate Christina (the science teacher) because she is super funny and makes science SOOOOO MUCH FUN.

I appreciate the incredible work our focused, caring, industrious, and diligent teachers are doing to make this Remote Learning plan a possibility.

I appreciate all the Nueva teachers for being open to this new way of learning, staying positive, and making the best out of a bad situation.

I appreciate my parents who are both medical professionals. They are still working even with everything going on.

I appreciate our teachers for doing more than normal work to make sure our learning is kept going. 

I appreciate the doctors and nurses for risking their lives every day. I also appreciate the teachers at Nueva for making the transition so smooth. I know they are new to this too, but they still make the quarantine not so bad! :)

I appreciate all the doctors who are treating people infected with the COVID19 for working really hard to cure people but also while risking their lives for others.

I want to appreciate everyone in the Nueva community and in our larger community who is working in the Health Care department.

I appreciate all the doctors and virologists for working so hard to save as many lives as they can from the coronavirus. 

I appreciate all of the teachers for working so hard to make sure that we can still get an education during this time and for being flexible as we navigate these waters together. 

I appreciate having Zoom, Google Hangouts, text, Facetime, and all the different platforms that allow me to communicate and connect with friends and teachers. I'm also beyond grateful for Nueva teachers for maintaining a learning environment and keeping it fun at the same time. Shoutout to Cynthia for being an awesome dean and writing those very informative Deans Daily's.

I appreciate my parents for helping look at the bright side of this quarantine.

Shoutout to all of the doctors and nurses for putting their lives on the front line to save others.

I appreciate all the teachers for creating all this new curriculum for us and for being so flexible during this time. 

I appreciate Nueva's faculty and staff. It takes a lot to keep school going through this unexpected change and the adaptability and resilience on Nueva's team is incredible. Teacher still take time out of their personal off-screen hours to meet extra with kids who are having more difficulties adapting to this which is beyond incredible. 

I appreciate all of the teachers who help put together the Zoom meetings, because we wouldn't have school right now if it wasn't for them.

I appreciate all of the people who are delivering packages and working in the stores right now because they are risking a lot to be doing it.

I appreciate all my friends for being so so so awesome!

I appreciate my friends because they keep my company and Zoom call me when I'm lonely. 

I would like to appreciate the doctors who helped Diane make the choice to close school for making the right decision. 

I appreciate all of the bonus material the teachers sent out. It's kept my brother and I busy for a while now! :)

All of my teachers have been checking in with me on how I'm doing, both in my personal life and in my school life, and it has really been helping me establish a new normal. Thank you!

I appreciate that Nueva gives the students the freedom that most schools don't get. 

I appreciate that we get so many opportunities to use cool things like computers, and machines in the I-lab

I appreciate Nueva, because even in quarantine, we can still learn and "go" to school. This allows us to connect with each other, and also helps quell the inevitable boredom.
